课程说明：

《英语学术论文写作》是普通高等学校英语专业的必修课程，在学科体系中占有重要地位。是英语专业大学本科教学的最后一个环节，本课程有利于学生相关学科的科研能力，并对整个大学阶段的学习进行回顾与总结。是考察学生综合能力、评估学业成绩的一个重要方式，也是对学生的一次语言及相关科学研究的一次基本训练。本课程需要完成三个教学目标：

1.知识目标：使学生了解并掌握学术论文写作的基本要求、规范和方法；

2.技能目标：培养学生独立思考、深入钻研的科研能力；提出问题、分析问题、解决问题的能力；收集、查阅相关资料的自学能力；

3.情感目标：使学生形成严谨的科研态度、认真的工作作风、良好的学术道德。

本次讲解选取《英语学术论文写作》课程中的一个环节——总论，使学生在开始阶段对本课程的学习做初步了解，从总体上把握英语学术论文写作的总体框架，初步解答在论文写作过程中学生大多遇到的两个主要问题：写什么和怎么写，及What to write?和How to write?

课程设计：

Step 1: Group Discussion

3. What are the main features of a research paper?

4. How do you think you can make your research and research paper writing    successful?

Step 2: Introduction of writing a research paper

Working out a preliminary thesis

2. How to write:

Reading academic materials and taking notes

Writing the research paper
